How it works

How does Masseter Botox work

Once injected into the masseter on each side, the toxin reduces the muscle's ability to contract forcefully. This quickly eases clenching and grinding and the tension that comes with them. Over the following weeks and months, using the muscle less causes it to gradually reduce in size, which subtly slims the jawline for a softer lower-face contour.
An overactive or enlarged masseter causes both discomfort and a widened jaw. Relaxing it works on several levels:
Reduced contraction force — eases the intensity of clenching and grinding
Muscle slimming — with less use, the muscle gradually reduces in bulk over months
Tension relief — lowers the strain that contributes to jaw ache and headaches
Jaw refinement — a slimmer masseter softens the width of the lower face
Patient Journey

What to expect

Stage 01

Consultation

Every treatment begins with a consultation. Your practitioner feels the masseter as you clench to gauge its strength and size, discusses whether your goal is relief from grinding, jaw slimming or both, reviews your medical and dental history and agrees the dose before proceeding.
