Tear Trough Filler

• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment to reduce bruising
• Pause non-essential blood thinners for a few days where safe, as this area bruises easily
• Arrive with clean skin, free of eye make-up
• Allow two weeks before a major event
• Mention any history of significant under-eye puffiness or fluid retention

After cleansing and applying numbing cream, small amounts of a soft filler are placed deep in the tear trough using a fine needle or, often, a blunt cannula to reduce bruising, and gently blended. You may feel mild pressure. The appointment usually takes twenty to thirty minutes. Some swelling or bruising is common in this delicate area, and detailed aftercare advice is provided before you leave.

1–3 days

• Avoid pressing or massaging the under-eye area for 24 hours unless advised
• Skip strenuous exercise, saunas and heat for 24 to 48 hours
• Avoid alcohol and salty food for the first day to limit puffiness
• Sleep slightly elevated for the first night or two
• Avoid eye make-up for the rest of the day
• Attend a two-week review to assess and adjust if needed
